Your Purpose

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is accountable to the Group CEO for the efficient financial management of the group. This includes the development of comprehensive financial strategies, the development of processes to comply with best international practice, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve the group’s assets and report accurate financial forecasts and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present financial budgets and forecasts.

  • Continually seek to improve systems to provide financial data in a timely and effective manner.

  • Manage all the group’s accounting processes, including:

a)     Maintenance of monthly management accounts and reconciliations.

b)    Inter company/entity loan and transactions reconciliations.

c)     Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register.

d)    Consolidated reporting for Australian and South African entities.

e)     Oversight of AP, AR, and payroll.

  •  Manage the group’s accounting and financial staff and ensure that all deadlines are timeously met.

  • Manage any third parties that supply support to the accounting processes.

  • Ensure access to sufficient finance to fund the capital expansion required to meet the group’s strategic and financial goals.

  • Develop, implement and maintain management accounting across the group.

  • Development accounting processing efficiency, automation and reporting by using technological systems and softwares.

  • Ensure sufficient working capital is available to fund the day-to-day requirements of the business, as well as prepare various scenario analysis for the group’s cash requirements as required.

  • Ensure the companies are operating in a tax effective manner while ensuring compliance with the tax risk policy.

  • Maintain appropriate insurance cover.

  • Ensure that the group complies with all legal, regulatory and auditor’s requirements, and ensuring compliance to the groups transfer pricing policy in the areas managed by the CFO.

  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial reports, international dealings schedules, lodgment of audited financial statements with ASIC, tax returns and other reports such as bank compliance reports, GST returns, payroll tax etc.

  • Ensure that the Workplace Health and Safety Management System is effectively implemented in their area of control.

  • Ensure all staff members under their control are provided with information, instruction and training relevant to their tasks.

  • Ensure that the companies and their employees meet all its legal and statutory and ethical requirements in areas under their control.

  • Ensure that the companies and their employees adhere to company policies and procedures in areas under their control.

  • Manage and build professional relationships with all external service providers to finance (E.g. Bank, auditors, tax advisors).

  • Monitor the performance of external service providers and ensure that the quality of services received aligns to the groups statutory and corporate requirements.

  • Identify and respond to financial risks appropriately.

  • Prepare and present accurate financial forecasts monthly and as required by the board.

  • Ensure that all group companies and divisions are treated fairly and equally when allocating financial resources and staff.

 
  • 1.1.  Management experience

    1.2.  Demonstrated experience in preparation of monthly/annual financial statements.

    1.3.  Strong understanding of finance Maintains a “hands on” approach to stay across the detail

    1.4.  Ability to lead a team and to delegate

    1.5.  Ability to deliver to timelines and with a high degree of accuracy

    1.6.  Excellent oral and written communications skills.

    1.7.  Knowledge of corporate governance and management best practices

    1.8.  Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills

    1.9.  A tertiary qualification in a relevant field

    1.10.    Excellent communication & negotiation skills.

    1.11.    Highly developed organisation & time management skills.

    1.12.    Detailed knowledge of Australian tax laws

    1.13.    High level of computer literacy and proficiency with Excel, Word and data software.

  • 1.1.      CA/CPA qualification.

    1.2.      Experience in the agricultural industry

    1.3.      Knowledge of the macadamia industry.

    1.4.      Understanding of quality standards

    1.5.      Understanding of WHS legislation.
