QYAC's Cultural Heritage services team has an intimate knowledge of the environment, traditions, rituals, areas of significance and artefacts of the region and offer valuable consultation and facilitation services to ensure cultural heritage obligations are achieved.

Chief Executive Officer

Position Summary

The CEO will:

  • Serve as the Chief Executive Officer of QYAC, overseeing the management of the day-to-day operations and affairs of QYAC.

  • Oversee QYAC's management teams and ensure that operations are aligned with QYAC's business objectives.

  • Implement and uphold transition strategies set by QYAC Transition Team and the Board.

  • Act in the best interest of QYAC and the Quandamooka People.

The CEO will have overall responsibility for the efficient and effective administration of QYAC’s functions working with the Chair, the QYAC Board and the various board sub-committees to maintain consistency and stability across the organisation and continue to drive QYAC’s Strategic Plan to achieve the best cultural, environmental and economic outcomes for the Quandamooka People and the wider community. The CEO will engender a culture of accountability, respect and teamwork.

Key responsibilties

  • Develop and implement the Operational Plan of QYAC in accordance with the Strategic Plan and reasonable direction of the Board.

  • Provide accurate and regular reporting of implement of the QYAC Operational Plan to the Board and ensure progress on key projects in delivery, monitor and report on those projects, including acquittals of grants.

  • Lead, inspire confidence and manage QYAC staff to promote effective and efficient delivery of their functions – overview of all QYAC staff and functions including an overview of Quandamooka Aboriginal Land & Sea Management Agency (QALSMA) senior staff and functions.

  • Develop constructive working relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Assist with legal and compliance duties, in accordance with QYAC policy and procedures, ensure compliance of QYAC with all applicable Local, State and Federal regulation and laws.

  • Provide clear and consistent provision of information to Quandamooka People regarding assets and funds held on behalf of the Quandamooka People, as directed by the Board.

  • Perform general administrative duties including the operation of computers and technology, and some basic procurement of goods and services.

  • Provide clear and consistent reporting and provision of information to the Chair and Board.

  • Such other functions as may be conferred or imposed by agreement with the Chair and Board.
