About the Role

Head of Growth

The Head of Growth partners with the CEO to shape and deliver the organisation’s growth strategy, driving sustainable expansion and commercial performance. The role translates strategic priorities into operational plans, identifies and validates growth opportunities (including new offerings, geographic expansion, and partnerships), and ensures all initiatives are feasible and protect client outcomes.

This role oversees business development and referral pathways, tender and funding submissions, and market‑facing growth enablement. It implements disciplined CRM and reporting governance, ensuring visibility of growth performance, risks, and opportunities for the CEO and Board, while building capability across the leadership team and Growth function.

Key Responsibilities

    • Partner with the CEO to develop and shape the organisation’s growth strategy with clear targets, initiatives, and accountabilities.

    • Translate strategic priorities into operational plans with defined deliverables, owners, milestones, KPIs, and reporting structures.

    • Work with operational leaders to identify and validate growth opportunities, ensuring feasibility and safeguarding client outcomes.

    • Monitor market conditions, sector dynamics, and competitor activity to drive sustainable growth and profitability.

    • Provide regular reporting to the CEO and Board on progress, performance, risks, and opportunities.

    • Build strong relationships across the executive and senior leadership teams to embed growth priorities.

    • Communicate growth objectives and foster organisational ownership of priorities.

    • Contribute to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, including coaching leaders on growth and measurable outcomes.

    • Lead and manage Growth team members, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, high‑performance culture.

    • Develop and execute a business development plan that builds a pipeline of qualified enquiries through referral and partnership channels.

    • Establish structured referral and business development pathways.

    • Clearly articulate the organisation’s value proposition, service model, outcomes, and safeguarding approach.

    • Implement and maintain CRM systems, including reporting on all business development activity.

    • Identify relevant procurement opportunities including tenders, grants, and EOIs aligned to strategic priorities.

    • Lead end‑to‑end submission processes including scoping, compliance, writing, budgeting, pricing inputs, and coordination.

    • Conduct post‑submission debriefs and implement improvements to strengthen process and win rates.

    • Develop fit‑for‑purpose marketing and branding collateral in support of growth initiatives.

    • Partner with marketing resources to deliver targeted campaigns.

    • Strengthen market presence through promotion, education, and representation at events, forums, and meetings.

    • Represent the organisation to build brand awareness and generate opportunities.

    • Build and maintain productive relationships with sector bodies, networks and organisations aligned to strategic growth.

    • Oversee stakeholder and partner relationships to support a sustainable pipeline of services and opportunities.

    • Leverage stakeholder feedback and market insights to identify trends, opportunities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience

  • Experience in growth, business development, partnerships, or commercial roles within community services, health, NDIS, or human services.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute growth plans.

  • Proven success generating growth through referral networks and partnerships.

  • Experience managing sales operations or customer journeys.

  • Highly desirable: experience writing tenders, EOIs and grants.

  • Experience collaborating with operations teams to align growth with workforce capacity and service delivery.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to think strategically and operationalise a growth strategy.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative stakeholder relationships.

  • High-level verbal and written communication skills, including tender and proposal writing.

  • Strong leadership skills and experience building high‑performance, positive team cultures.

  • Commercial acumen and experience delivering and reporting on targets, KPIs, and outcomes.

  • High computer literacy and CRM proficiency.

  • Self‑directed, resilient, and confident in a hands‑on, outcomes‑based role.

  • Knowledge of Child Protection, Human Rights, and relevant Standards of Care.

Other Requirements

  • Regular travel required.
