MyState Limited (MYS) is the non-operating holding company of a diversified financial services group listed on the ASX and is a leading provider of banking, trustee and wealth management services to customers across the country through our retail brands - MyState Bank, Auswide Bank, TPT Wealth and SelfCo.
MyState Limited was formed in September 2009 following the merger of MyState Financial, an authorised deposit-taking institution, and TPT Wealth, a trustee and wealth management company. On 1 December 2011, MyState Limited acquired The Rock Building Society (The Rock) based in Central Queensland. On October 6, 2014, following authorisation from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), MyState Financial changed its name to MyState Bank (MyState). In February 2025, Auswide Bank became a wholly owned subsidiary of MyState Bank, part of the MYS group. On 1 December 2025, Auswide Bank and SelfCo. became divisions of MyState Bank, operating under the one banking licence.

MyState Limited is the ASX-listed (MYS) non-operating holding company of the diversified financial services group consisting of MyState Bank (including Auswide Bank & Selfco), and TPT Wealth, a trustee and wealth management company. MyState Bank is regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority. MyState Bank and TPT Wealth hold Australian Financial Services Licences issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
The MyState Limited executive management structure shares responsibility for common operational areas across all subsidiaries and was designed to deliver 'one team' efficiencies in areas of shared services while preserving the core elements for marketplace delivery of separate brands.
About the Role
Head of Marketing
The Head of Marketing creates value through customer acquisition and retention as an enabler for business growth. The role is accountable for attracting and engaging more customers, aligning brand strategy with the customer experience and managing marketing investments in line with our cost per acquisition and activation targets. Primarily focused on the deposit portfolio for the bank brand(s), acquisition strategies will be required through digital channels to acquire new customers beyond our traditional markets; and as well as utilising our branch network to drive growth in our geographic foot print through regional Queensland and Tasmania. As the custodian of customer communications, this role has a key role in projects that have a customer impact as well as crisis management activities. This role will also be the subject matter expert on evolving our brand to increase the appeal in new and existing customer segments and markets. Effective leadership in this role is essential for guiding and inspiring teams to collaborate seamlessly in pursuit of our strategic objectives.
Organisational context
Harmonising marketing activities and systems, building a high performing team following the merger of two banks.
Building a challenger brand that is competitive outside the homeland markets of Tasmania and regional Queensland.
Efficiently using limited marketing resources to maximise the return on investment.
Your Accountabilities
Customer marketing: In support of organisational goals, including product and digital propositions, oversee the development and implementation of customer engagement activities to increase the activation rates of newly acquired customers, and strategies to retain and deepen relationships with existing customers.
Customer communications: Provide customer communications subject matter expertise into business projects as required, monitoring the effectiveness communications strategies. In the event of a crisis event with customer impacts, ensure resources are appropriately allocated to the response team for remediation activities.
Marketing strategy: Develop and oversee the implementation of marketing campaigns relevant to the desired channel to promote product, customer experience or brand(s) in pursuit of business goals.
Brand strategy & management: Deliver a brand strategy that positions our brand(s) with clear differentiation in our target markets, creating a cohesive and compelling brand presence.
Digital marketing: Support growth in new markets through digital acquisition. Develop and embed digital marketing capability to maximise search engine optimisation, paid search, analytics and insights and lead generation and conversion.
Customer research & insights: Take ownership of customer research and insights. Apply this knowledge to the design and development of marketing and customer communication activities. Share with stakeholders to inform the product, service delivery and any relevant business decisions.
Sponsorships & partnerships: Develop and implement a sponsorship and partnership strategy to increase / maintain brand awareness and community sentiment in our regional heartlands.
Agency Collaboration: Balance the use of internal and external creative capability in accordance with business needs / constraints. Hold external marketing agencies to account to service level agreements, cost and delivery quality.
Success Criteria
Marketing or Business Degree: A Master’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field is desirable for this role.
Marketing expertise: Extensive background in marketing, 10+ years of experience spanning various marketing disciplines. Experience in Financial Services is preferred.
Leadership and team management: Experience building high performance teams through collaboration, clarity and engagement.
Return on investment orientation: Demonstrated success on delivering marketing solutions to support growth and profit.
Strategic alignment / action orientated: Aligning marketing plans to organisational goals, balancing tactical short-term wins with longer term positioning and outcomes.
Digital leadership. Strong experience in digital platforms and ecosystems to understand how to best connect with customers and prospects through these mediums.
Risk leadership. Proven experience in designing and executing plans and activities that align to our risk appetite statement and align to customer consent and broader regulatory requirements
Marketing Automation. Proven experience in identifying and embedding technology solutions (including AI) to unlock efficiency and execute faster.
