About the Role
Manufacturing Manager
The position of Manufacturing Manager is to coordinate the fabrications of the Phibion MudMaster at our Brisbane based assembly operation. This role will ensure we deliver the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost into a rapidly expanding export market.
The role requires a person that is driven by the highest quality control standards, have lean manufacturing experience and the ability to expand production volumes in response to market demand.
This role is also responsible for inventory management with our family of international and domestic suppliers for new fabrication as well as the ongoing maintenance support of our global operations.
Reporting
This role reports directly to the COO and collaborates with:
All Phibion Executive and Manager roles;
All Phibion Technical and Sales Roles; and
Customer Representatives, Government Representatives, Regulatory Agencies.
Position Matrix
The list below represents the required qualifications and desired experience:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, mechatronics, heavy engineering, or other multi-disciplined technically oriented, continuous manufacturing activity, including management of teams
A tertiary/diploma level qualification in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Science or Management is desired
Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems
Lean manufacturing experience
Manufacturing experience with specific focus on continual improvement
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Organizational and time management experience
Product Planning specifically with manufacturing experience to ensure within budget and on time
In-depth knowledge of ERP or manufacturing systems
Proven experience coaching and developing employees for success
Ability to delegate and manage performance
Duties & Responsibilities
Utilising exceptional planning skills, generating a short, medium and long-range production plan to analyse and balance capacity requirements
Actively manage production to the production plan to ensure DIFOT metrics are achieved consistently. This includes alignment and integration of outsourced fabrication sub-assemblies
Ensure manufacturing floor is in compliance with all legal regulations in the relevant jurisdictions and enthusiastically promotes a preventative injury and incident culture
Supervise assembly, sourcing and shipping
Where required, provide position descriptions, hire and train new staff members
Deliver company production reports to the CEO and Phibion Borad of Directors as requited
Liaising, estimating and advising of lead-times with customers
Ongoing systems and process improvements
Assisting with dispatch of finished goods and incoming goods
Report on hot progress to management
Forecasting and ordering raw materials
Produce and maintain QA documentation
Maintaining inventory control
Managing staff to meet deadlines and production flow
Proactively identify equipment bottlenecks and source effectively to meet the production schedule
Conduct regular reviews to solve problems, balance multiple priorities or identity and report potential delays and risks as early as possible
Lead, organize and conduct fortnightly production meetings
Timely reporting of issues, potential delays, and risks
Actively participate and ensure appropriate production representation and all design reviews
Utilise lean manufacturing principles to raise, evaluate and down-select products and process improvement ideas
Manage sub-contractors to provide high quality services and products
Be a team player

Establish and build a Manufacturing process within the Phibion Brisbane
Assembly Facility to the highest quality within the available budget to satisfy
customer needs.Develop an elastic manufacturing processes to support both rapid expansion
and customer demands.Working with the Supply Coordinator to ensure inventory is kept ensuring
minimal delays in production while maintaining a strict budget.Implement Phibion policies and procedures and where needed develop
necessary procedures for continuous improvement.Integrate Phibion systems with local cultural expectations to blend respect for
local expectations with high-performance business expectations.Work closely with Phibion Engineering team to identify areas of improvement.
Work closely with the Operations and Maintenance teams to provide timely and
business critical sparing in accordance with operational needs,Ensure all reporting of all performance is accurate and transparent
Represent the company at trade shows and identify new suppliers
opportunities.Develop and maintain Procedures needed to support safe and consistent
operational practice;Represent Phibion in technical papers, conferences, government reviews etc.
as required to showcase the application and benefit of the technology;You will be required to travel and will require a valid passport. All reasonable
travel expenses will be reimbursed by Phibion
